Credo AI sells an AI governance platform for models, applications, agents and vendors. Its distinguishing feature for policy work is a set of ready-to-deploy policy packs for the EU AI Act, the NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 420011.

Best for: Larger or regulated companies that need an inventory of every AI system, agent and vendor, with ready policy packs for the EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001.

Not the right fit for: Smaller companies that need a one-page policy and a few controls, not a governance programme.

What Credo AI does for an AI policy

The platform discovers and catalogues AI systems, agents, vendors and models, with an agent registry, shadow AI detection, risk classification and dependency mapping. It runs continuous, contextual risk assessment with an agentic risk and control library, and offers a vendor registry and portal for third-party AI risk1. In the terms of our template, it supports clause 5 (the tool register) and clause 12 (new tools and vendors) at enterprise scale.

Credo AI reports being named a Leader in a Forrester Wave and shows logos including Mastercard and Databricks1. It does not publish prices, and it governs AI systems rather than holding an individual agent action for approval in a business system.

Strengths and limits

Strengths

  • Ready-to-deploy policy packs for the main AI frameworks, which saves a compliance team from mapping each clause by hand.
  • Registries for agents and vendors, and a vendor-risk workflow with a vendor portal.
  • Shadow AI detection and risk classification across the inventory.

Limits

  • Pricing is not published.
  • The client logos on its home page are large enterprises; there is no sign of a package sized for mid-sized companies.
  • It governs AI systems but does not run the business process or block an individual action at the moment it happens.

Choose another option if: You need controls in the tools staff already use, or approval rules on what an AI agent does in a business system.

Questions to ask Credo AI

  • Which policy packs are included, and how are they updated when rules such as the AI Act change?
  • How does shadow AI detection find tools staff use without approval?
  • What is the smallest deployment you support, and what does it cost?
  • How does the platform connect to the systems where our agents act?
